Many people believe that taking on one of their partner's passions or hobbies is a thoughtful way to express their love and desire to strengthen their bond in a way that they'd undoubtedly enjoy! On one side, it's sort of like giving someone a taste of a meal you just cooked, wanting to share something personal and tasty with them so they can enjoy it too, whilst the other side is kind of like wearing your partner's hoodie as a way of feeling closer to them…The giver and the receiver are on equal terms.

This girlfriend knows her boyfriend loves gaming, and as a result, she thought there'd be no better way to spend more quality time with him than learning how to play! That way he'd be doing what he loves, and they'd still get to be in each other's company…At first, he was excited by her enthusiasm, until it seemed to eventually turn into a gaming addiction…She'd ask to play at every free moment and every time he'd decline or request some alone time, she'd freak out, claiming that he was bored of her…Girl, we know Mario Kart is good…but it's not that good!

Sometimes our partners need some alone time to wind down, and each person has their unique way of doing so. So when you try to adopt every one of your partner’s hobbies, you’re bound to be disappointed if he wishes to do one alone. That is why it is so important to have interests exclusive of your partners, it makes that time together so much more special, whilst still giving you the space to breathe, a space not solely necessary for him.
